There are a handful of free, publicly available academic search engines that can be accessed online; some of these are listed in Table 1, below. The remainder, like the ISI Web of Science, are subscription-based. Universities and colleges often subscribe to academic search engines. I've found a reference that shows that the availability of key dissociated ionic forms of the EDTA Iron Complex increase substantially with both sunlight, temperature and pH See figure . The reference again shows the importance of light to EDTA Iron complexes, consistent with Svenson.
 
In the body, fine control of blood pH is maintained at by controlling the partial pressure of carbon dioxide in the lungs. However, once the blood is exposed to the atmosphere, its pH should rise due to the drop in carbon dioxide partial pressure.
 
This reference suggests that the photolytic half life of Fe-EDTA complex may be even shorter than the 11 minutes in the Svenson study, because air exposed blood has a higher pH than water.
